Pen and Pencil Sketches and Paintings of Dogs.
Dog nut. I freely admit it. Here are some sketches and paintings of dogs. I work from photographs. I hope you like these.
These are some dogs in dresses. These are Anatolian Shepherd Dogs -- maybe actually a glamor dog! -- certainly most beautiful in their finery. First we have Queen Leylanie Loo, Queen Potato! And then her niece, Princess Blue-ee, and then Lady Joyeux pouring some tea, Our Man About Town, Mr. Splotch-Mon, and finally, Mr Lad-Din-Din-Din. And his Dad, Sebastian. Enjoy.
This came about because these are Anatolian Shepherd Dogs. We go to dog shows and when the breed is announced for the ring, there is always:
"This is the Anatolian Shepherd Dog, an ancient breed from Turkey. This is a working dog who has aided shepherds in guarding their flocks. This is a large, rugged dog. The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is not a glamour dog."
And I thought, not a glamour dog! Why, a bit of lace here, a bit of velvet there, a bit of frill and fop! And here they are! My collection of GLAMOROUS Anatolian Shepherd Dogs!

Submission to Anatolian Shepherd Dog breed show in St. Louis (of course). This did not end up on T-shirt.
The rest started out as my wish to make a simple line drawing of a dog. But it turns out that dogs are a bit more complicated. So each dog went from being just lines on the page to having expression and movement and, well, they just took me in. And then the simple lines gave way to more ornamentation and then more expression and then I started on those darn poodles with their pom poms. And that was the end of that simple idea.
