AZAMARA "QUEST" CRUISE
AUGUST 2008

We went on another cruise... I know, how unusual for us. This time with Azamara - a smaller ship that is the brainchild of the Celebrity Cruise Line.

This was our itinerary:

Athens, Greece; Kusadasi, Turkey; Chios, Greece; Santorini, Greece; Nauplion, Greece; Gythion, Greece; Itea (Delphi), Greece; Taromina, Sicily; Sorento, Italy; Monte Carlo, Monaco (and Nice, France); Livorno (Florence), Italy; and leaving from Rome, Italy

We saw a great many volcanos! And there was no need to worry about using a StairMaster as everything seemed to be straight up a hillside. We got some exercise! The weather was perfect! And the food, both on and off the ship, was extraordinary! Once again we have eaten our way through Europe... and my scale will prove this to be true!

Here are some photos (a very small amount compared to what we photographed!)

Of the Ship: The Azamara "QUEST"

Kusadasi, Turkey

Downtown in Turkey.

This woman was the queen of the belly dancers. She was mezmerizing!!! And absolutely perfect.

Turkish Folkloric Dancers - really amazing dancing and music!

Santorini, Greece

Really, I think you need a helicopter tour here!

Volcano! It was still steaming!

Nauplion, Greece

What a great place for lunch - we tried everything!!!

Gythion, Greece

I really wanted one of these octopi for lunch but they were not dry enough. Later they would be grilled and splashed with ouzo.

Beautiful Mystras...

Here is SPARTA.
"SPARTAN - COME HOME OR COME HOME ON YOUR SHIELD"

Taromina, Sicily

View of Mt. Etna - we went up there!

Yes, this porky person is me - on the top of Mt. Etna. and I'm afraid I came home even porkier than this! Food was outstanding!

Taromina is really wonderful!

Sorento, Italy

This lady MADE cheese!

We stopped at a farm and I saw the broom!

Monte Carlo, Monaco (and Nice, France)

OK - I could live here.

These spices were so aromatic! Over powering!

Nice France - meat market

Livorno (Florence), Italy

And then it was all over... A very nice trip! A great holiday. Now it's just us and South Beach Diet.

Cheers!
